Doug Bonde, Director of Operations
Doug Bonde began his solar journey in 2004 by moving to an off grid property with his wife Claire, near Squamish BC. They began using solar with panels recycled from a communications tower, and after 10 years of living off grid and using solar as part of their energy supply, they started a small Renewable energy company in 2014, named SynRG Renewable. This company was based in Squamish, and assisted the District of Squamish in becoming Canada’s 5th solar city! Their contribution was the first Grid Tied net metered solar System in Squamish, used as a demonstration and teaching site, one of the requirements for solar city status. The company went on to install the first residential grid tied solar systems in Britannia Beach, Squamish, and Lillooet BC. In 2019 SynRg merged with Blue Pond Solar, and Doug Bonde took on the role as the Manager of Operations, as well as becoming an equity stakeholder in the company. He brings to Blue Pond 16 years of general contracting experience, as well as significant Renewable energy experience in planning and implementation. He has been an enthusiastic and unwavering promoter of solar energy for 15 years, and an environmentalist throughout his entire adult life.
