BluePond Energy, a division of BluePond Solar, offers leading energy-management solutions for businesses and organizations. Often commercial customers contact us about solar, but upon asking a few questions, we realize that there exist energy-savings measures within the plant that will generate a much higher rate of return. On some occasions, energy-savings measures can be easily identified, such as LED lighting, while others require an energy study to ASHRAE Level 1, 2, and 3 standards. These energy-savings measures will lead to lower consumption and demand. Identified measures can be low-cost or investment-grade. Solar PV systems can then be designed around the new consumption profile post-implementation of these measures.

We are a new truly western Canadian company with a focus purely on western Canada, but BluePond has its roots based on global experience. We understand the Canadian solar market has been a laggard compared to other markets for a variety of reasons. Our experience comes from one of the world’s leading solar markets, Australia, and following a tremendous amount of planning and research, solar is now is finally ready to take off in western Canada.
BluePond Solar knows British Columbia and Alberta, and we are dedicated to installing high-quality grid-tie and off-grid systems across western Canada one rooftop at a time following international best practices, safety standards, all exceeding national and local codes. Our systems allow customers to take advantage of BC and Alberta’s net-metering programs and the generous amounts of sunshine most parts of each province experience. We know which rooftops are great for solar, and those that aren’t, and we will always give an honest analysis.

Justin has always been passionate about energy and trying to make a difference. After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a Master’s in Asia Pacific Policy, specializing in energy policy, Justin lived in China working for an energy-savings company. He became captivated with energy and its use and conservation, as well as with the development and application of renewable technologies. Marshaling his business experience, he traveled to his homeland, Australia, completing installations and researching high-calibre business models in the PV space. Justin is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and completed his Grid-Tie Solar Design ticket in Queensland, Australia. He is also a graduate of BCIT’s Sustainable Energy Management (SEMAC) program.
Darryl Dornbusch is a veteran electrician with decades of electrical experience and years of PV experience. While completing his apprenticeship in the early 1980s with the legendary Australian company, Southern Cross Machinery, Darryl witnessed the birth of solar-powered applications with Southern Cross’s development of solar pumps. After extensive experience in the construction industry in Queensland and the Northern Territory, Darryl became inspired with solar energy, and has not looked back ever since. He took part of the rise of solar power in Queensland, providing high-quality installations in areas that experience cyclone-force winds. He has completed a wide range of grid-tie installations of all sizes to happy customers around the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, Australia. He is an accredited solar PV installer, both grid-connect and standalone, with the Clean Energy Council of Australia.
Alberta Project Lead
Kyle Moss, otherwise known as The Honest Electrician (www.honestelectrician.ca), brings local expertise to our Alberta operations. With years of experience as an Alberta Master Electrician, Kyle has also completed NABCEP solar training, and is well-versed in energy management, auditing, and LED lighting. Kyle’s business is also Better Business Bureau accredited, while achieving a phenomenal 10/10 rating on HomeStars.com.
Nigel is passionate about solar. Working his way towards a Masters, Nigel is a versatile electrician, with solar experience across multiple countries. In Mexico, Nigel volunteered working on standalone systems for impoverished communities.
